In this article, I’m going to share with you my top tips on how to wake up early and work out.
Go to Sleep Earlier-Get 8 Hours of Sleep
Get rid of the Tv in your bedroom, it’s just a distraction, the news is depressing causing worry and anxiety, and you’ll no longer be tempted to binge-watch an entire series on Netflix.
Remove Netflix, Hulu, and any other apps from your smartphone that will keep you scrolling all nite long. Better yet, see step 2….dont keep your smartphone by your bed, place it at the other end of your bedroom, or keep it in the living room.
If you like gadgets, I purchased an Apple Watch to track my calories and movement but I’m finding that I love the sleep tracking the most. It holds me accountable to getting 8 hours of sleep a night, and I truly feel healthier, happier, and more productive.
Put Your Alarm on the Other Side of the Room
Instead of silencing your alarm (or smartphone) from a comfortable position beneath your cozy covers — a dangerous move which lets you stay holed up in your cocoon forever — give yourself a reason to actually get out of bed. Strategically place your alarm (phone) somewhere far enough away that you’re required to stand up and walk several feet to reach it when it goes off.
Here’s the catch, though: Once you’re up, you have to stay up. Resist the urge to stumble back to bed to sleep for “just five more minutes.”
I remember my WHY…..why am I waking up daily to workout. My WHY is to keep this 100 pounds off and to never suffer from anxiety, depression, fatigue, and pre-diabetes again.
Drink Exogenous Ketones In A Big Glass Of Water
OK, so drinking a glass of Ketones won’t exactly motivate everyone to get up, but it’ll definitely help you stay up once you accomplish the tough task of getting vertical.
This is one of the more popular and desired, benefits from ketones. Ketones work better than a pre-workout and have been found to improve insulin sensitivity, lower and normalize blood sugar levels, contribute to an increased state of satiety, and decrease food cravings.
Individuals with high levels of ketones have been able to step away from the main-stream dieting idea that 6-meals per day must be the norm. Due to the increased level of satiety, you just eat when you’re hungry. No more calorie counting or food measuring!! All with significant weight loss benefits.
The improvement in blood sugar levels may also explain why ketones have been shown to benefit type II diabetics and women suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Energy levels and athletic performance have also shown significant improvement with higher levels of ketones. Ketones play a role in improved blood flow. They appear to enhance the function of the mitochondria (our energy powerhouse), cause blood vessels to dilate, and lead to improved oxygen capacity, which can enhance athletic performance and improve motor performance.
This is why ketones are often referred to as the “super fuel.” Ketones are also a powerful antioxidant, they have an anti-catabolic effect and help to preserve and promote muscle mass. Ketones have also been associated with an increase in branch chain amino acids (BCAA), which play a role in muscle growth.
The list of benefits from ketones is exhaustive. In addition to the weight loss effects and enhanced energy and muscle performance, ketones have been positively associated with:
- Migraine treatment
- Neuro-protective benefits in seizure disorders; ADHD; Alzheimer ’s disease, memory and cognitive function; Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis
- Autism and improved behavior and social impacts
- Mood stabilization in bipolar disorder (type II)
- Stroke prevention; cardiovascular disease; metabolic syndrome management; improved cholesterol levels
Drinking enough water is a key part of maintaining a strong and healthy body, so a big glass (or two!) of water to rehydrate after seven or eight hours of no liquids is a great way to start your day right. Warm or room temperature water may go down easier, but if ice-cold H20 is your jam, that works too — nothing like a morning brain freeze to get you fired up.

Interesting fact, many of the busy moms I coach sleep in their workout clothes.
I have an audible dot com account as well as an iTunes podcast account which are both full of a large variety of different types of tools. Business, spiritual, leadership, family, self-help, finances, goal setting….etc.

Go Work Out!
If you’re not a morning person, it’s probably safe to assume you’re also not someone who enjoys leaping out of bed and lacing up your trainers for a workout.
An a.m. sweat session can do wonders for your day — it will improve your focus, brighten your mood, and relieve anxiety with a good old-fashioned dose of endorphins.
Working out at 5 AM for 30-40 minutes also has another great benefit, your children are not yet awake, and nobody at work is calling on you at that time of the morning to derail you from your goals.
Important TIP from personal experience: Unless you’re using your smartphone to stream a workout, leave it out of the workout room, I tend to get sucked into social media and lose precious time. Give your workouts 100% focus and effort and you’ll be rewarded with amazing results and feel so much healthier.
