Tips On How To Wake Up Early And Work Out

In this article, I’m going to share with you my top tips on how to wake up early and work out.

Go to Sleep Earlier-Get 8 Hours of Sleep

Get rid of the Tv in your bedroom, it’s just a distraction, the news is depressing causing worry and anxiety, and you’ll no longer be tempted to binge-watch an entire series on Netflix.

Remove Netflix, Hulu, and any other apps from your smartphone that will keep you scrolling all nite long. Better yet, see step 2….dont keep your smartphone by your bed, place it at the other end of your bedroom, or keep it in the living room.

If you like gadgets, I purchased an Apple Watch to track my calories and movement but I’m finding that I love the sleep tracking the most. It holds me accountable to getting 8 hours of sleep a night, and I truly feel healthier, happier, and more productive.

 

Put Your Alarm on the Other Side of the Room

Instead of silencing your alarm (or smartphone) from a comfortable position beneath your cozy covers — a dangerous move which lets you stay holed up in your cocoon forever — give yourself a reason to actually get out of bed. Strategically place your alarm (phone) somewhere far enough away that you’re required to stand up and walk several feet to reach it when it goes off.

Here’s the catch, though: Once you’re up, you have to stay up. Resist the urge to stumble back to bed to sleep for “just five more minutes.”

I remember my WHY…..why am I waking up daily to workout. My WHY is to keep this 100 pounds off and to never suffer from anxiety, depression, fatigue, and pre-diabetes again.

Go Work Out!

If you’re not a morning person, it’s probably safe to assume you’re also not someone who enjoys leaping out of bed and lacing up your trainers for a workout.

An a.m. sweat session can do wonders for your day — it will improve your focus, brighten your mood, and relieve anxiety with a good old-fashioned dose of endorphins.

Working out at 5 AM for 30-40 minutes also has another great benefit, your children are not yet awake, and nobody at work is calling on you at that time of the morning to derail you from your goals.

Important TIP from personal experience:  Unless you’re using your smartphone to stream a workout,  leave it out of the workout room, I tend to get sucked into social media and lose precious time. Give your workouts 100% focus and effort and you’ll be rewarded with amazing results and feel so much healthier.
