Slow metabolism is more than one factor in almost all instances. “Temporary or permanent?” Of course the latter would be the most popular answer unless you are the type who is strangely inclined with quick-constant-changes in your life.

In whatever field it is, people find security and stability in permanence. It is funny to think that in dieting, however, they give in to short-term solutions.

These short-term solutions come in different ways such as skipping meals, working out with an empty stomach and so forth.

Below are some of the most common metabolism malpractices.

Dieters only think of one factor affecting metabolism. There are different factors that lower or heightens metabolic rates like age, sex, sleeping habits, amount of muscle mass.

The tendency for most of us wanting to lose weight is to get carried away with just one area of consideration. The most typical example is that one focuses on building muscles but neglects sleep. This is not a good way because it will not provide positive outcomes.

Dieters just exercise for the fat zone. This isn’t new to us, even gym instructors give this as advice.

So, the dieters think that doing this would really shape them up. The truth is, they need an over-all work out to maintain weight or even improve it to the level you want to.

As an example, I used to do extreme HIIT cardio day after day for years on end. It took a toll on my joints and it burnt me out to the point I had chronic fatigue.

I started doing 20-minute weight training sessions, followed up with 30 minutes of yoga and it really made me feel great. I’m still in great shape, happier, and no longer feeling burnt out. My clients have had great success with Yoga Burn too.

Dieters Restrict Calories Too Much

Another big malpractice is when dieters restrict calories too much. For example, when food goes down too low, metabolism slows down to create a balance inside for bodily activities.

There is a big possibility that you lose weight, but this may come from wrong portions of the body like the muscles or organs. You just lose weight temporarily but in the long run, you will lose muscle mass, and eventually gain weight.

The worst malpractice is the use of diet pills to lose weight. Metabolism is greatly affected by this wrongdoing.

They think that taking these pills would tame their appetite and lose weight. This is just for short-term results, you have to think of long-term wellness over a temporary rejoice.

Not All Calories Are Created Equal

If you’ve followed me for a while you might have heard me say I was a vegan in the early 2000s for almost 3 years. It did help me lose weight because I went from fast food and Mt Dew diet to vegan.

Initially, I went vegan to feel better because I still didn’t feel amazing after losing 100 pounds. The vegan diet created several metabolic problems, and actually made me feel worse.

The lack of essential human nutrition (red meat) made my anxiety and depression worse. The copious amounts of fibrous and high carbohydrate foods caused leaking gut, candida, Crohn’s, I felt like I was dying.

The weight started coming back on as I became sicker than before the vegan diet.

I consulted with a holistic gastroenterologist and a couple of keto doctors who suggested I do a carnivore diet for several months until my gut heals and my autoimmune reactions clear up.

What Do I Eat On Carnivore?

  • I consume ketones in place of breakfast.
  • The first meal of the day is between 11 AM-12 PM is red meat with eggs and bacon.
  • I have ketones in the afternoon, it’s a great pre-workout.
  • I’m drinking water all day/night with Mitoplex electrolytes. Total is a gallon per day
  • Dinner is fatty meat like pot roast, steak, pork chops, chicken thighs
  • If Hangy, I’ll eat scrambled eggs later in the night, but I stop eating by 8 PM as a general rule.
  • I’m fasting for 16 hours on average.

I got better rapidly, and I started shedding body fat again! So I quit worrying about my calories and how many meals a day I should be eating and focused on eating fatty meat until I was pleasantly stuffed, and I no longer crave carbohydrates.

Ketones help with sweets cravings because they are a delicious sugar-free drink that satisfies me.

You might be thinking this carnivore lifestyle I’m doing contradicts the original intent of this blog? We’ve learned a lot about metabolic science in the last few years, and scientists have debunked many myths about what we were taught as healthy.

The issue is, doctors didn’t have to study nutrition in college, so this knowledge is taking too long to reach them if they are even open-minded enough to learn more about metabolic health.

What I’ve seen is many doctors became sick and fat like I did and they started looking for answers to their own health issues and stumbled upon keto and carnivore dieting and it changed their life. Now they are doing the research themselves and treating patients with diet changes before prescribing medications.

As I stated above, slow metabolism is more than one factor in almost all instances, when related to the standard American diet. Keto & Carnivore meals seem to get people’s bodies back to balance.

If We Ate The Proper Human Diet, We Wouldn’t Be Sick & Fat

What if we ate the proper human diet (red fatty meat), drank more water, ketones daily, gave up junk food, got more sleep, lived with gratitude, maybe practiced EFT to rewrite childhood programming in our subconscious so we quit sabotaging ourselves?
