How many times has someone said, “Have a healthier day!” to you? Probably never….LOL. Usually, you hear “Have a good day” which is nice but lets up the game with being specific with some tips to have a healthier day instead.

Healthier Day Tips

While there is a whole list of things that will help you, let’s narrow into down to change up the day. This will give you a good start on some healthier daily habits that will help you reach your health and wellness goals.

Prep Your Food for the Day

Preparing food ahead of time is a way to make sure that you have good healthy food with you. Food prep removes the chance that you will go out to grab a fast-food lunch or reach for unhealthy choices.

Creating a meal plan ahead of time, cooking and organizing that food, and then having those meals with you saves time later and is an excellent healthy practice.

Breakfast

Breakfast can either be a healthy start to your day or a nightmare that causes energy and mood swings all day long.

Here is what I’ve learned after having lost 100 pounds a few years ago. Breakfast just isn’t that important if we plan the day correctly.

For most people, breakfast is high in carbohydrates and it causes far too many health issues and weight gain.

Drink Water

Drop the diet sodas and energy drinks off your menu and fill up a water bottle. Make a goal of eight 8oz glasses of water each day and then increase from there.

Water is beneficial to the body for many reasons including flushing toxins, and suppressing hunger. Invest in a quality refillable bottle and carry that with you.

Have Lunch Around 11 AM

I only eat between the hours of 11 AM – 7 PM, it’s a mild form of intermittent fasting that is fairly easy to get used to quickly. This means we’re not consuming any calories for 16 hours, 8 of which we are sleeping.

Do you crave breakfast more than lunch? Then make yourself a big vegetable omelet with a little healthy fat like avocado or grass-fed butter for lunch.

The goal here is to avoid carbs or find lower-carb alternatives for lunch.

For lunch, I love salad greens with s variety of vegetables and grilled protein such as salmon, steak, chicken and a nice vinaigrette. No croutons!

Have your Snacks Pre-packed

Make good choices with your snacks instead of using quick runs to the vending machine, convenient store, or fast-food drive-through.

It is an excellent plan to have berries, veggies, unsalted nuts, hard-boiled eggs, animal protein, and cheeses.

Be careful of prepackaged energy bars, trail mix, crackers….most of those are high in sugar. Be sure you read your ingredients. If you like bars, you need to order a box of these HEKA Good bars, they are delicious and a really healthy choice.

Dinner- Don’t eat beyond 7 PM

Keep dinner simple and low carb. Remember the rule, veggies most cooked with a little grass-fed butter or 100% pure olive oil, some animal protein like steak, chicken, fish.

If you’re craving potatoes, try mashed riced cauliflower, it’s quite delicious. If you truly want potatoes, it’s okay just don’t over consume them have a couple of small red potatoes, a small russet or sweet potato.

These small tips will equal big change toward having a healthier day.
